Transworld Recognizes VP Robert (Bob) Latham on his 6th Angel Flight

Transworld Business Advisors of Houston is honored to recognize Vice President Robert (Bob) Latham on his 6th Angel Flight.

Angel Flight South Central (AFSC) was founded in 1991 and is based in Dallas catering to the Texas, New Mexico, Arkansas, and Oklahoma regions. The organization works with a large group of amazing and generous volunteer pilots such as Bob, to provide free flights for people in need of humanitarian assistance or medical treatment with limited financial means. Angel Flight reaches out to volunteer pilots such as Bob with a list of available flights or “missions” and these private pilots make themselves and an aircraft available for these missions. The volunteer pilot is responsible for contacting the patient to coordinate the private flight. These flights are provided at no cost to the patient, and often save the patient thousands of dollars in travel and accommodation expenses. Additionally, they keep them off of commercial flights and airports and the health risks associated with those for patients undergoing chemotherapy. Without these pro bono flights many of the patients would have to drive for many hours to obtain the life-saving advanced treatments they need. 

The vast majority of Bob’s patients are actively battling cancer and receiving treatment at the Texas Medical Center here in Houston. His most recent flight was an exception, an Oklahoma patient returning from a special clinic in San Antonio. Bob was responsible for picking them up in San Antonio and flying them to Dallas where another pilot transported the patient from Dallas to their home in Oklahoma. We, at Transworld, are proud of Bob’s selfless contribution and proud to have Bob as a member of our Transworld Houston team.
